Candy-Marie Bickett

Candy-Marie Bickett is Director of Institutional Partnerships at United Way Bay Area, where she stewards institutional funding and cross-sector partnerships that strengthen the systems families rely on when health, housing, or income become precarious. Her work sits at the intersection of housing justice, financial stability, and economic mobility.

As Principal of CMB NP Consulting, she helps nonprofit leaders empower communities to move from crisis toward greater security, dignity, and choice. She understands care as systemic as much as personal: shaped by policies, access, and the social drivers of health.

Her connection to caregiving is grounded in a profound blessing in her life, being able to accompany her father—a veteran living with chronic illness and addiction—through his last weeks in hospice, where she experienced the quiet, radical empathy of caregivers and the unseen labor that allows loved ones to die with dignity.

She serves on the Caregiver OneCall Board because she believes caregiving is sacred, systemic, and shared work—and that no caregiver should ever be left to carry it alone. Through Caregiver OneCall, she wants every caregiver to have what she wished for in her father’s final chapter: a trusted place to call, real-time navigation, and dignity-centered support that sees and sustains them as they walk with the people they love.

Candy-Marie resides in the Bay Area with her dog, Riley, and splits her time between California and North Carolina. An avid cyclist, she finds clarity and connection on long rides.
