James G. Williams brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across nonprofit, corporate, government, and military sectors. A retired United States Marine, James has dedicated his career to building stronger organizations and programs that improve community well-being.
He currently serves as Executive Director of the Beaufort-Jasper Economic Opportunity Commission in South Carolina, a community action agency supporting over 100,000 residents annually. In this role, he oversees a multi-million-dollar budget, leads a staff of more than 100, and has expanded partnerships to strengthen services and outcomes.
In addition, James serves as President of the Southeastern Association of Community Action Agencies (SEACAA), a regional organization representing close to 200 agencies across eight Southeastern states. Through this role, he provides leadership in advancing training, policy, and collaboration efforts that support families and address the root causes of poverty.
James’s career also includes leadership positions with United Airlines, the University of Phoenix, and as an entrepreneur. His two decades of service in the U.S. Marine Corps included assignments in program management, operations oversight, and compliance. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Park University and is Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
As a board member based in South Carolina, James contributes valuable national insight to Caregiver OneCall’s mission, helping expand its vision to support caregivers across the country.
